Reflect & Renew

Hello beautiful,

Reflect…

If you think back on 2018, what comes to mind? Was it filled with great adventures? With goals being achieved? Moments filled with laughter and happiness? Or maybe it was a tough year. Things didn’t go as you hoped and planned. There were moments of great sadness and maybe even heartache.

Whether it was your best year, or not, it did happen. And there is nothing we can do to change that. But there is so much we can learn from the good and the bad.

As we come to end of 2018, and as we are about to close the doors for this year and walk into open doors for 2019, I would encourage each one of us to take the time to reflect on this year.

Reflection should play an important part of our lives. Reflection is an opportunity to remember great moments and significant events that happened. Reflection is an opportunity to be grateful for our lives as well as an opportunity for growth and development. It is also a reality check for areas we need to change. And reflection is also an opportunity for when we do have good years, we can look back at the not so good and look at the lessons we learnt, the ways we grew, and be even more grateful for the good years we experience.

To help you reflect, here are some tips you can use:

  1. Set some time aside before the end of the year to reflect on 2018

  2. Write down and reflect on:

  • The significant moments that happened

  • The challenges you faced

  • What you learnt from both the good and the bad

  • Do you need to let go of anything so that you don’t take it into 2019?

  • What you are grateful for

  • And close the chapter. Say goodbye to 2018

Next, it’s time to prepare for 2019.

Renew...

It’s time to prepare for 2019. 2019 is a new year, a blank canvas and it is up to you how you will fill it. Over the next few weeks, is the best opportunity to set yourself up for 2019.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Pray and ask God to give you wisdom on how to make 2019 a great year

  2. If you’re like me and prefer physical diaries, then I would recommend investing in a diary that you would love to use. Otherwise using a calendar/diary on your phone is great too.

  3. Write down all the things you want to achieve for 2019 (these are not new year’s resolutions, but rather the things you would like to see happen).

  4. Write down your why and your purpose and then break them into goals

  5. Break down each goal into achievable steps (use SMART goals to help you)

  6. Make sure you allow time for important things like family time, self-development, fun activities and of course you time.

  7. Put this in a place that is visible that you can look at every day.

Ladies, just because you write down your goals doesn’t mean it will happen. You need understand why you have those goals, what it will do to your life once you achieve them and invest regular time into making those goals happen.

But I do believe in you. I believe that you have what it takes to make 2019 an incredible year. So, before the year is out, take the time to reflect. And once you have reflected, take the time to renew and be ready for 2019.

All my love,

Sarah-Jane xx
